We have just finished putting the Blktop Sr20det in my old 1989 240sx. We used the O2 housing from a redtop. Which means we would have to use the skinny O2 sensor (duh) But what I wanted to know is if there is anything wrong with using the skinny over the fat. Proformance wise.

Thankyou-Jeff

First, why don't you try removing the stock adaptor from the stock O2 extension.

Spray it down with WD40, or a better rust penatrator, then use a closed end wrench and hammer.

I'll bet you the stock black-top O2 fits in the hole the adaptor fit into.

adaptor? Well... theres no way I could get the big jumbo blacktop o2 to fit in the skinny housings. It doesn't even screw on. Plus I wanted to know proformance of using the skinny o2 sensor compared to using the big o2 sensors in a black top. Unless I would have to change O2 Housings... but thats gonna be a pain considering the motor is already in.

Doesn't matter. No performance gains or loss from using either one. Use the appropriate one that fits the housing.

But the only diff is that I could get the "big" one at my nearest Auto-Zone dealer correct? Then the skinny would have to be ordered.

Thanks for the information tho

The small one can be had locally as well. It's an 87 300zx o2 sensor IIRC. The big ones are from the z32's which is what I'm using so I remember that one. ha ha ha
