I'm in the process of looking for a project car, and I was wondering is there and performance difference between and SE and LE (this is referring to the S13's, 91-93) I know the LE's had an option of leather seats, but is there any other difference.

Thanks.

The LE comes with driver-adjustable lumbar support and the leather seats (it wasn't an option on the LE). But in 93, they simply stuck the lumbar and leather in a "Leather Package" instead of offering an LE model.

Is this the only difference between the two?I guess what I'm asking is that if i could get a good deal on a LE should i get it, or should i get an SE because its the sport edition, i mean is the SE better in performance than the LE or are they the same?

Well, in terms of performance, the SE is the only model available with the "Sport Package" (VLSD, HICAS, etc). But non-HICAS SE models are almost no different than LE models. (I think the LE might be just a bit heavier, though.)

Also, air conditioning was standard on the LE, whereas it was an option on the SE and XE models.

Ok thanks that's what i was looking for, because i don't want the HICAS model, but do you know why the LE was heavier, besides the A/C?

I really think it was just a few pounds, due to the leather seating and the lumbar. So I wouldn't count it as a huge factor in differing the two.
