Difference between S13 black and red top Power FC?

Allright, I got my car running. Runs pretty damn good imo. Right now im running off the stock ECU, stock injectors but I have a Garrette T3/T4 hybrid on it. I also have a WRX BOV vented so you guys can imagine its running alittle rough.

So yeah. I have an HKS ssqv that im gonna be putting on when I redo my piping in stainless. Also wanna get some Deatchwerks 550s and was looking to get an Apexi Power FC.

I was reading about it and fell its a pretty good unit to use. I had a chance to get a Power FC for a red top but idk what the difference is. Also when looking at new ones the price is for some reason significantly different.

Also what else would you guys reccomend to a new to tuning person like myself. Im gonna be having my buddy that works at a performance shop help but for me this is all new.

I really wanna do a MAF-less setup if I can too. Im just trying to get some ideas of what to do for tuning.

And its a 60a/r I was suprised with how quick it spooled up. Everyones all... "thats gonna be sooooo laggy" but it was on my friends KA-T along time ago and it spooled good. I figured it do fine on an SR. The turbos got like 1k miles on it tops so its basically new too.

So yeah, any helps good.

so can anyone chime in on why there are two different part numbers for the S13 black/red top? The motors seem to be the same in every aspect to me. Anyone know whats up with it?

My understanding is that the engines are basically identical, the difference is in the wiring harness. The pins can be swapped at the plug to use a different ECU
