Difference between high angle rods and pillow ball tension rods

What's the difference between high angle tension rods and pillow ball for a 1997 q45? Specifically the megan racing ones, will the pillow balls be any smoother? Will the steering angle actually be that noticeable with with all other parts stock? Also I might upgrade the rest of the front parts in the future, if so I've heard rubber suspension bushings will tear eventually, so in that case I'd rather have the metal ones.
