Hi everyone i got another question.. There is some major difference between Every Ca18det ECU ? cuz i bought one from someone on the board and when i changed it ..damn.. the car feel so much better with the new ECU. More torque and power.I think its boosting a litlle faster , maybe 500 rpm less than it was before.

My old ecu was a 74 i changed it for a 98.

I know my 76 is from a UK ca18det without 02 sensor (no cat). So my harness have no wire to connect the o2 sensor... i will have to customize it to get my 02 sensor working with my new ECU.

well what are the difference between to two Ecu if one feel and run a litlle faster than the old one even without my o2 sensor.

thx

i dont think there is any difference in the ecus, maybe just the fact that you reset it made a difference. im not sure if the fact that you had a ecu for the 4 port head with an 8 port engine (or now have a 8 port ecu with a 4 port head?). ive tried a 98 and a 99 ecu on my car and it didnt make too much of a difference in how it runs. this isnt really fair though as the 99 ecu is tuned.

im guessing that just resetting the ecu made a difference.
