Difference between 98 and 99 I30 taillight panel?

I currently have a 97 I30, and I am going to change my whole back taillight panel (outer tails and the inner panel) to a 98 or 99. My question is: Is there a difference between the 98 or 99 panels? I just want to be sure that I am getting the panel that looks the best.

Why bother...the 96 I30 looks like a 99 to me except for the wheels. Course I got side air bags, but they all look pretty much the same. Relax and enjoy your car.

The 96-97 have amber outer tails dull grey inners. The 99 have totally clear outer and inner tails.

98 is when the I-30 went to the clear outter tails. So there were two years with the amber and two with the clear before the new model arrived in 2000. Had to consult a 98 I-30 brochure I have to make sure!

The '99 has chrome strips on the rear panel, the '98 doesn't. That's the only difference that I know of. Let me know what kind of price you get on it, I would like to know.-Joe
