Differance between a truck KA24E and a Car KA24E (Search did not help)

We have a KA24E Engine that we are rebuilding. Don't know for sure if it came out of a car or a truck as it came as a spare when we purchased our Race Car.

While looking for Pistons etc I see different parts for the Truck KA24E and the Auto KA24E. What are the differances and how can I tell which I have? Are the parts interchangeable?

Advise welcome

PS The car is in a PURE STOCK class so no chance to add Turbo etc.

I don't know much but I know that there are some differences at the bottom of the motor...something about the oil pan/pump having to be changed for it to fit into a 240 from a truck??....I think because of clearance issues with something...dunno..

You might try searching for those differences and maybe figure out by the oilpan shape what you have??

the oil pan is definitely different as is the intake manifold and injectors are different, and i heard from someone that the compression is a little different, but im not positive

the injectors are the same the intake is diiferent. where the starter goes is different. the valve cover is a little different where thehose that goes from the intake to thevavle cover os in diff location. i think the caps that hold the crank in are different also. otherethan that everything is thesame i put a 240 motor in my hardbody truck a while back

the injectors are definitely different, you cant tell till u pull them out, i have the old ones from my old hardbody, they are different
