2009 Rogue SL
I plan to change diff and transfer case oil tomorrow.
The Hanes manual says to use "API GL-5 80W-90 Hypoid gear oil"

I got a Valvoline API GL-5 80W-90.... but I do not see "Hypoid Gear Oil".
Is it critical to use "hypoid" ?

As long as its meets the GL5 Rating i wouldnt worry too much about the hypoid bit.

Definition of Hypoid: a bevel wheel with teeth engaging with a spiral pinion mounted at right angles to the wheel's axis, used to connect nonintersecting shafts in vehicle transmissions and other mechanisms.

So I think "Gear oil" covers the hypoid criteria.
