Hey guys. I just got a VLSD for my 240, I was told it was from a 180sx the numbers on it are 38311 40F00. Everything is kosher, its the same size and housing as the old open diff. The down side is the diff didn't come with output shafts/flanges. My 240 has 6 bolt outputs and fit in the diff however the retainer clip is only on one side and when the output is set inside, the retainer clip doesn't keep it snug to the housing. It allows for maybe a 1/4 inch gap or slippage.

Please does anyone have some words of advice other than.. " Umm don't buy a diff with out output shafts" >< Thank you thank you!

Im basically wondering what output flanges are needed with my diff, which numbers are 383311 40f00. I was told it was out of a 95+ 300z. Also where i might be able to find them.

viscous lsd's use different output shafts than the open diff output shafts so you'd have to source some r200 vlsd output shafts to swap that diff in you 240.

hm, I don't think i've ever seen the output shafts for sale by themselves but I believe you can get them from NISSAN.

I just did a quickie search on courtesynissan(they are usually the cheapest on OEM parts) and here's a link for the output shafts:http://www.courtesyparts.com/2....html

http://www.courtesyparts.com/kb_search_ ... _3756_3778

It's for a s14 but it's all the same parts (I'm using a s13 vlsd in my s14 just for the record) $170 for just the Right side LSD shaft unless you can source some used ones, it would be really expensive....a complete used VLSD would only go for 120-200 depending on what kind and condition. You would be better off just getting another diff and as long as it's a r200 vlsd you can use the output shafts for any other r200 vlsd.
