Hey so I've always thought that the Kaaz, NISMO, and Cusco LSDs were clutch type LSDs. I've been reading through Carrol Smith's Tune to Win and from what he's describing they sound like Weismann lockers. Basically he says, Weismanns are the **** and most everything else is an abortion (for road course racing). Clutch type diffs use clutches and spring preloads (or no preload) and shims to vary lock percentage. Weismanns use a series of cams, rollers, and cages to vary lock percentage. Sounds like the Kaaz and NISMO LSDs, not sure about Cusco. I haven't been able to find really any information on Weismann lockers or cam and pawl diffs anywhere else.

Anyone know anything about these diffs?

Thought this would mix up the usual Welded/Spool vs VLSD vs Clutch type vs Helical debate.

Does anyone make one thats usable in a nissan? If not its kind of a moot point. A quick google search didn't yield much.

I'm trying to figure out if the standard, NISMO, Kaaz, and CUSCO LSDs are weismanns or cam and pawls. I don't think they're standard clutch types. I found a thread saying Kaaz LSDs feel like cam and pawls because they have a rough engagement, but I didn't think cam and pawls used clutches.
