diff from carrier

'93 hatch/ open diff removal: With the output shafts removed, should the diff come out of the carrier easily? Or does it need serious prying?

remoce the two bearing caps on the sides, then the easiest way is to put a box end wrench(i believe 17mm, could be wrong) on the ring gear bolts. rotate the carrier till the wrench hits the casing, then get a prybar on the other side of the carrier. it will need some convincing. also, take note to pay attention to the spacers on the side bearings when you do finally get it out, you dont wanna mix em up.there are write ups how to do this
