Here's a question for all, how much play should the diff have when you set the parking brake, put transmission in neutral, and try to spin the driveshaft? I have not messed with the diff since I have owned it, and the previous owner did not tell me if he did. Far as I know it is a stock diff. So could there be a problem with the diff if there is too much free play? I also notice that there is a cluncking sound when I shift. I thought it was the driveshaft support bearing, so I bought a one piece driveshaft. But the clunking still happens. I need help.

The clunk is normal, thats your backlash bewtween the ring and pinnion gear, thats nothing to be alarmed about. infact that "freeplay" is your backlash. you should have a small amount of freeplay.
