diff cover gasket

I got a 95 J30 diff, and i need a gasket when i swap the 240 cover. My question is this, i have two part numbers for the J30 gasket and the 240 gasket. Which should i buy? If the covers are truly exchangable, there shouldnt be that much difference... but i dont know.

they are most likely the same gasket if they are interchangable. but because your are dealing with nissan to infiniti you will get 2 different part #'s . this is due to having different suppliers for the same gasket. I have found when dealing with older nissans(80's early 90's) that one part on the car can have multiple part #'s and the reason behind it is kind of a long story but basically its due to multiple suppliers for the part and each supplier has its own part number for that part. also depending on weather the part comes from japan or the US there will be a huge price difference for that part.

Just use some blue RTV.That is what I did and I've had it for a year w/o any leaks.
