I've had a 240 SE since it was new in '91 but these designations (S13, S14, S15) are new to me. Does this relate to engine version or body style or ...? Is there any reason to 'upgrade' to 5 lug hubs from 4 lug hubs? Is diameter of brake rotors on 5 lug models (last few years of 240 SX) bigger than on 4-lugs models (therefore better braking)? I've read that slotted rotors really eat up pads but provide better braking than cross drilled alone. Urban legend? Can a KA motor be turbo'd without sacrificing AC? Inquiring minds want to know.

S13, S14, S15, it relates to the body styles. The 89-94 240sx is the S13. The 95-98 240sx is the S14. And the 99+ body style is the S15. There really isn't a reason to do a 5-lug swap, except that some people do it so they can put their 300zx brake upgrade on when really you just get the rotors custom drilled for the 4-lug. Also there are more wheels available in 5-lug, than 4-lug. And yes, i would imagine that the 5-lug models would have bigger rotors. To answer the last question. Yes, the KA can be turbo'd without sacrificing AC I'm pretty sure.
