I am about to service my 2 difs and trans and tranfercase on my 04 frontier crew cab. What type of gasket sealant are you guys using on your difs and transmission. Also what type of transmission fluid are you guys using in the transmission and transfer case.

Auto or stick?

The auto takes Dexron III and the manual takes GL-4 (no substitutes, it has to be GL4.

You shouldn't need to reseal anything to do a drain/refill. If you do remove covers, etc., standard blue RTV silicone works fine.

The Tcase can take 75 or 80W90 GL5, as can the diffs. The Tcase will take 2 quarts, the front diff about 1.75 quarts, and if the rear diff is an H233B axle, it takes about 2.5 quarts.

Of course synthetics are better.

unless you have a purge system like the trans shops use, dropping the pan will only drain about 1/3 of the fluid. It's almost worth it to head to Aamco or the like and get one of their purge specials for $99-129 and get a full fluid replacement.

Or you can drain/fill & drive & repeat. I personally think that 30k is pretty early for a flush.
