Being that you have the 5.0 V8 Cummins in Nissan. Do you see a diesel in 1 of the Infiniti SUV's? I've been reading how you have Dieselgate going on with the Cummins brand with Dodge. Looks like the 6.7 liter in the Dodges. But may include their 3.0's too. I'm a big enthusiast of Diesel technology. I have an 08 Ram 2500 pushing nearly 800 on 38 inch tall tires. So again big fan. I think Diesels can get excellent mileage. And make gobs of torque to pull your huge boat or something of equivalent size. And if you all aren't aware. Maintain a Cummins properly. You can see a million mile motor. So longevity takes a part in it too. I'd really consider a SUV with the 5.0 Cummins in it if Infiniti decided to take that route.

5.0 Cummins in a Q70 isn't far fetched either. It already has a 5.6 powerplant. MBZ has their diesel cars. And they lay down some respectable numbers too. I'll tell y'all right now. I'd buy a Cummins equipped Q70 in a heartbeat if the price was right.

What do you fellars think?

Unfortunately I don't see this happening. In the right vehicle, I'd buy a turbo diesel in a heartbeat. The options in the US are limited. There are diesel Infinitis in Europe, but they're the smaller 2.2L powerplants in the Q50 and Q70, not sure about the European QX lines but I'm pretty sure there are no diesel options.

Diesel just can't seem to gain much popularity in the U.S. for some reason. Thanks to all this dieselgate stuff, it seems like it'll be set back even further.

P.S. I'm still looking forward to a small gas-turbine generator powered hybrid vehicle. Put some diesel, Jet-A, or old cooking oil in it and you can get a pretty good efficiency - better than reciprocating engines. Turbine engines peak efficiency range is fairly narrow so direct-drive, like the Chrysler turbine car used, is a poor idea. Have it drive a 3-phase AC generator/starter-motor at a specific RPM to keep a small battery pack (like Prius) charged and power a 3-phase AC motor like in a Tesla and you're talking high efficiency, long range, minimal maintenance, and a lot of fun.

EDIT:
It seems someone's already on to the idea from New Zealand.
