Diesel In a 2001 Nissan Altima What do i DO to fix the problem???

I know I normally am not in the Altima Forums but I need your help on this one!

My dad ran out of gas earlier today and walked to a gas station and got a can from the man and then filled it with Diesel and not Gas.

It was about 1 gallon of Diesel. He is an Alcholic and was drunk at the time! He said the car started and ran for about 2 blocks and then shut off.

The car wont start now. What should I do? He was only about a half mile from the house and I just go back from pushing his car home.

I did some reading and it said to fill the tank with Premium gas and drive it out... I just don't want to fill the tank with gas if i can't get it to start..

I assume i can (bleed the fuel lines) until I get all the Diesel out of the tank and then put gas in it and start it up...

Any Ideas would be a great help.

The only thing I can think of and would do as a previous TECH is to remove the gas tank, clean out the fuel lines and run a fuel induction service on your car. If possible and not to much check the spark plugs for any damage and repair if needed. Good luck to you dude. Just let your dad know that it;s not a good idea to DUI. I got hit by a drunk driver back in 2006 and was hospitalized for over a month. I was not in a car. I was doing work on the freeway. The driver in serving and attempted man slauder charge and will be in jail for 10 years and his family has to pay me restotusion for lost wages of 59g's for the 6 months I didn't work. The dude was only 19 and was dribing his mom's jeep.

Thanks for your help... and I keep telling him this. He is recovering and he fell of the wagon yesterday. It is a hard and long process! Im 23 and feel like I am raising a 45 year old married couple and 2 younger sisters!

I am glad you are ok and there is no excuse for that. You should have gotten more than 59k
