A buddy of mine's 240 runs fairly well. no problems starting or anything. but if he's driving on the interstate, or even in the city and shifts late. as soon as it hits about 5000 RPM's in any gear...it acts as if it has hit the governor and coasts for a bit till it gets back down to like 3000...then you can actually use the throttle again. Any ideas on whats wrong?

yo i have an 89 240 and mine was doing the same ****. eventually if u keep driving it like that it'll get worse if its the same problem i had. simple fix i found out after i dropped about 500$ on new everything. the wires that connect to the fuel pump inside the tank were bot connected good enough where someone had replaced the pump before i got it. new connections and new wires made my car run like a champ.....hope it helps
