I took my s14sr out for a drive after I got new front rotors and pads on to start braking them in....

Anyway, ended up doing a highway pull in 3rd then into 4th, when i got up to 90mph I hear the recirc valve pssh and my car is off. I start it again and use the brakes to slow down, they still seem fine with appropriate pedal pressure so the booster is connected I believe. At a stoplight in N the car dies, it wont idle, starts up and RPMs walk down to zero. Trying to accelerate or use the gas at all causes sputtering and revs hardly climb at all.

Notes: Stock 7psi of boost, just replaced the headgasket with a cometic MLS and ARP studs, compression after install was even at 145psi.

Happy birthday to me i guess. At first I thought I blew a charge pipe, then maybe a vacuum line. Is it possible to blow a vacuum line?

Any ideas would be great, help a brudda out on his B day!
thanks

Hmmm...

Check all the piping from turbo -> intercooler -> throttle body

If that's not it maybe your BOV is gone or stuck...

Started the car today and found out the actual symptoms; feathered the throttle and it didn't die, but it was running on like 2 cylinders with white-ish smoke coming out of the exhaust as well as darker black smoke.

It looks so much like a head gasket problem I almost want to skip checking compression and just pull the head off clean everything up again and try to get a good seal.

If anyone thinks otherwise, lmk.
