Can you guys rank the manufacturers based on their detail and replication of the original car? I'm looking for some diecast cars for my room. :)

I just recently placed an order for this beast:

It's a 1/24 (about 7 inches long) model of the Apexi FD3S D1 car, made by Hotworks Diecast. Oh, I can't wait for it to come! :)

I got it from Jackadeal.com for $25. They also have the Option Fairlady Z (the orange one that crashed) that's made by the same company. Same price/size too. I'll probably get that one next...

Oh, Jackadeal also has the new Initial D diecasts, as well as some others. Inlcuding a 1/12 scale (over 15 inches long!) Silvia S15 that looks pretty awesome too. And a 10 inch Skyline GTR model:

Just about any brand will do. I look for car specific and stick to 1:18 scale.

Those were the ones I was wondering about mainly...the Maisto ones. They're like $20 and look decent. I like the AutoArt and Danbury Mint ones, but don't really want to spend that much if I don't have to.

I was looking on ebay. Do they have Le Mans cars at most stores? I love them and want some diecast replicas.

I like Burago diecast cars, but they primarily make european and american models, (though they're an italian company). They're highly detailed, unlike Maisto.

From them i currently have from them:M-Roadster 1:18Dodge GT-S 1:18Carlo Sainz' Ford Focus WRC car 1:18Ferrari F-50 1/24BMW M3 race car 1/24Porsche GT2 race car 1/242 C5 Vettes that i got for real cheap because they were out of the box.and a Escort RS Cosworth Martini Rally car 1/24

Then i have 1:24 R34 GTR from Maisto or something.

All of them were cheap, Burago cars at K-B Toy stores are usually 19.99 or 16.99 on sale, and 1/24 are 10.99 and 6.99 on sale.

Kyosho and AutoART diecast models are nice too.

Here's a pic of the exact Bimmer i have:

If you're referring to me, I got it as a gift from my gf who was on vacation through Asia. I can get em locally though, pricey...The shop that I see the autoart r34 has em for 70 or 80 bucks. That's a bit much in my view but everything opens, wheels turn, and looks so awesome I crap my pants every time I see it.

Some of the most detailled diecast cars I've seen latley are from Jada Toys (Dubz series) and Praying Mantis. There is some amazing underhood and interior detail.

I would go to your local Barnes and Noble and pick up anyone of the following magazines, Lee's Toy Review (Industry bible for everything from action figures to diecast cars), Tomarts Diecast,Diecast Model magazine.

Well the thing that I dont like about the Jada Toys is that the car's are all set up with huge rims the are deep in the fenders. I dont mind that on the Dubz series(I own some), but when its on the tuner cars, it just dont look right. Otherwise I like em.
