You can get a compression tester from autozone. All you do is take all the spark plugs out, stick the compression test in one cynlinder at at time and have someone turn the motor over and read the compression on each cyl.

That sucks. Do you have an aftermarket water temp gauge? It definitely overheated, hopefully it's not worse than a damaged gasket. Any smoke?

that sucks, hopfully its just a blow hg at worst....

maybe the force be with you.

but jeez, how late were you, you would have to be in quite a rush to leave your car on...

i would check the compression, and look to see where that coolant leak is from... maybe a water pump or hose.

i am not shure for the ca, but the ka is no less than 150 with no more than a 10 percent diif. between.

i would definantly not want some gnarly general to stick his boot up my a$$.

did you find where the coolant was leaking from yet?

because of the stories of the FWD DOHC waterpump breaking b/c of the clutch fan. <shrug>, one of my e-fan's turns on when the car turns on, and the other's wired to manual toggle switch.

If you want to run the clutch fan with No problem, buy a CA18ET waterpump.

Got one, fit perfect & no problem

If it was overheating bad (i.e. for 3 hrs ), you'd definatly loose some out the overflow, as long as it has a dump tube All your coolant was boiling, thus expanding. It had to go somewhere

If you get it started and it leaks more, you've got a real problem.

Be prepared to pull the head and take it to a machine shop for repairs. Also make sure you buy a new headgasket, headbolts, new valve stem seals, and new crankshaft seals. If what you said is true, I would even play around with it.

alright, lets go step by step.first you removed the electrical connectors to the coil packs, then removed the coil packsthen removed all four spark plugsdisconnected fuel pump fuse/EFI relay, whatever it is i can't remembercranked car and it clicked.without actually hearing the clicking myself, i'd think it was coming from the starter. might want to have someone else crank while you scour the engine bay to pinpoint the sound. if that is the case, the signal to start going to the starter may not be strong enough. the battery might be weak (not enough CCA), the connection to the starter might be corroded/loose at either end (high voltage drop)starter could also be lame. might try hitting it with a hammer (ya its a hack job but it works quite often) to get the gear to engage properly.

as for the rhd, its not much to look at DriftinNCjust this covered up like this and this

thanks caz it was the starter ...it was really loose...and then the plug/connector kept coming off...lol...then on the initial startup (to warm up the car for the comp test...the rpm jumpd up to 3500 and kept climbing....i was like WTF...turns out the throttle cable was wrapped up @ the TB...so i was gradually pulling tho it didnt look like it was...so after all that was sorted out i finally got the comp test done....first off...i filled up the rad and watched for bubbles....there werent any....check the dip stick and oil filler cap for milky oil...found none (though i wont really know until i drain it)....also its smoking @ idle (white) and under load it smokes heavily (dark greyish color) initially then stops...

now i got no less than 165 accross the board on the three runs of the compression test...so know im thinking sumthings wrong w/ the gauge lol...i mean im happy i got those numbers but it just seems to good to be true....im gonna call around and see about gettin a leak down test done tomorrow

Clean your spark plugs, put water/coolant in your car and drive the thing. It's cold now, so it's gonna be somewhat nice to you, but when the engine heats up and parts start expanding.......SHOWTIME It should get hot quick after bursts of boost (if it even lets you boost and not break up). Watch your coolant and water for mixing, but these engine don't seem to be big mixers; just boil the hell out of the coolant.
