the cars rpms dont go over 4000 when i give it full throttle how do i fix this

Does it not go past 4K even in 1st gear? Have you tried disconnecting the battery? disconnect it for about an hour to reset it. make sure the MAF is installed correctly. Air intake is one of the least invasive mods, so you really don't need to worry that much about damaging anything.
