I was wondering how many of you removed the charcoal canister when swapping your KA out. If you removed it did u have to plug anything on the intake manifold or just leave it vented?

I removed the canister. Don't leave those open, because under vacuum you will be sucking dirt and stuff in.You can buy plugs for them at most autoparts stores.

Some people kept the charcoal canister, so you could do that as well.

I removed it, but didn't cap it, I wasn't sure if you were supposed to leave it able to suck air in, because otherwise the tank will pump gas out, but not be able to replace the gas with air, kinda like pouring gas out of a jug, it's the little air valve...maybe I'm just crazy? I was thinking tanks are air tight since they make a pssssshhhh noise when you open them sometimes..

I think he means that you need to plug the vacuum lines, i.e. the ones on the intake manifold, not the ones coming from the gas tank. I left those open.
