Did you pass emissions (washington)

I just got back done from doing my emissions......FAILED. I passed the idle test but the co2 test I failed. The legal limit for co2 is 1.2 I got a 1.52. Just curious what other people got on thiers (mainly washington owners). And isn't there a visual inspection in most states. I was all prepared for the lady to ask what the B.O.V is and I was ready to say 'Oh yah the guy I bought it from said it was a special edition' haha. They didn't even ask me to pop the hood or anything. And what could you do to bring down your co2 level. I have searched for emissions but havent found much on Washington state.
