I think in California we're considered sedans.

I got my registration a couple weeks ago... and under body style it says: '4 door'.

The vin and everything else checks out so I was like...

no, the 4 door label was def a mistake

as to sedan vs coupé definition, its not as cut and dry as 2 or 4 doors, but by SAE standards and definition, the Altima Coupé is definately a coupé

as the doc pointed out there are 4 door coupes, what makes a coupe a coupe is a roofline less then 33 cubic feet.

buddy...you just got a park anywhere you like card....

any time a ticket agent summons you for illegal parking...the descript of the vehicle from their end will say "2 door coupe" or however they write it in your state...

however you have the vehicles reg stating 4 door!...

the ticket is "legally" in error!....send a copy of the reg and the ticket...and boom....dismissed!

at least here in ny....all summons must be exact and correct....meaning..color...plate...date of summons, location....and body style...if the ticket agent marks your car as a sedan...when its really a coupe...your off the hook!

cvevat..or however they say it....if you have a scannable reg...and the agent scans your window...it will produce what is leagally on your reg...in which case....send a photo of your car...from the location of summons...stating the car is a 2 door not a 4....you might beat that one on a techincality,,,,but i can promise ull get a corrected registration in the mail...

its not your job to proof read their stuff....they can not expect you to know difference from coupe or sedan..thats why they want VIN numbers...

What a waste of a thread that is (over there I mean). I stopped in to check the information that would be over there, and I stopped reading at page 3 as it had nothing to do with Blake's turbo. Anyway, I'll just stick to getting my info over here from now on...

Side note, this is just another example of the main reason I switched over to NICO. I got tired of all the damn bickering over there. Everyone has a mentality that they know more than everyone else on those boards. Therefore I'll bring my information and questions over here. At least I know I wont get flamed for asking questions, and that the threads wont derail instantly. There are plenty of people over there that are reasonable, but the few that I want to stick in the jaw don't make it worth it. Thanks for being reasonable over here guys, and I hope I can contribute more in the future.

actually according to the dictionary the coupe really is a sedan

se·dan –noun 1. an enclosed automobile body having two or four doors and seating four or more persons on two full-width seats.

coupe –noun 1. Also, coupé. a closed, two-door car shorter than a sedan of the same model.

kinda looks like the square rectangle thing, a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle cant be a square

I know that i shouldn't throw gas on the fire, but I have to say this somewhere....

YOU CAN'T SITE WIKIPEDIA!!! It is not a verified research source - just look at all the stuff it says at the top when you type in "coupe." Hell, I could go in there right now and edit the whole document to say what I want it to say. Just ask any college professor about citing wikipedia; you'll probably get a half hour rant on it...

I wasn't referring to you nogears, i was just saying in general - that whole battle has been with definitions that have been pulled off of wikipedia (among other sources). I'm just trying to make a point that if you ever try to make a reasonable case with someone outside of this forum (or any other for that matter) and cite wikipedia, you'll get laughed at.

Other than that... lets leave nissanclub alone and not mention them... EVER...

We dont have to prove ourselves, and our forum has all the "goodies" we need...

Thanks

EDIT: May i also say that i was a little bit sad when i saw some familiar names over there... including adidas and doc... thats kinda unfortunate.... Especially since we have all the good stuff here...(and in a turbo thread, the most action was robert explaining interior space)

wheres their turbo?wheres their projector retrofit?Does their forum owner contribute to the altima coupe section?Do they have events like NicoFest?

I rest my case.
WTF? Brian your going a bit overboard here. I dunno why your being so emotional, but I have 5 posts over there I think. Im telling people about this turbo. Thats about it. The thread is even linked to NICO. What else do you want dude?

actually according to that, the altima coupe is still a coupe. The coupe is 3 inches shorter than the sedan

yes, the coupe is still a coupe, but according to the definition, the coupe can also be a sedan, but the sedan cannot be a coupe...if that makes sense

According to this definition, there can be no coupe without first having a sedan.

Adidas... idk, i just thought itd be best if they had to join here to talk to you and interact... not that you would go there to show it to them... we all know that they may see the pics bc they are public on the net...

But if you wanna "shake hands with the don" it should be on his turf! NICO!

Just my .02

Arithmatics! Coupe definition according to SAE standards is dependent on rear interior volume ... Whether two , three, four , or five doors if the rear interior volume is less that 33 cu ft... It is defined as a coupe... So depending on rear interior volume , a car could be considered a two door sedan... Or even a four door coupe

To the next point .... Clearly LBC is not serious about complaining about me going on nissanclub.com... Unlike Blake, I'm not a moderator and I can go anuwere I damn well please... You post on G35 driver and other forums alsoand you're a moderator brian... I have my reasons for going over there to post, bit I'm not even gonna waste my time explaining or defending

I didn't start out mentioning their site by name, someone else did however, I will sat that you guys are getting a bit redicilous about this ... Don't mention lord voldemort's website thing... I understand not linking to their site , but in this situation , I think any of our members can see what an utter DISASTER of would be to leave nicoclub and go elsewhere... Many of the troublemaking jerks that left our site comfortably reside over there .... NICO is the spot for information and useful responses!

Come on guys... remember internet doesnt show humor sometimes...

I think we all know that if i made a strong comment (legit beef with guys posting there) that i would have been flamed till my eyes popped out!

For the un-initiated new guys...they may not have the sense to know the REAL DEAL from a RAW DEAL though... i wanted to make it clear to those who dont have a strong allegiance to NICO that we provide more than a "messageboard".

Many members dont know about the DIY section, and havent experienced a GB, or the high-level discussions about stereos, turbos, and custom parts.

For those members, it serves a reminder, Nico is the 800 lb elephant.

Sheesh... fine... wheres the shampoo...!
