Did the dealer sell me a used car as new?

After posting some pics of a green leak under the engine, someone noticed something else that may be a sign that the CVT was worked on.
Can other hybrid owners check the bottom of the engine and see how it looks compared to mine?
If the CVT was worked on, then I was sold a repaired, used car, as a new car, which I believe is FRAUD and I will take legal action against the dealer.

Here are the pics and the thing in question is the red RTV sealant, the excess of which is clearly visible.

to calrify, you think because there is visable sealant that the trans has been cserviced and that makes the car used? or because of the apparent leak?

evne new cars sometimes leak, you shoudl take ti back to the dealer and have them address the issue, they shoudl have nor problem addressing the issue under warranty, and you can even take ti to a different dealer as the warranty si good at all Nissan dealers

many nissans for many years have used liquid gasket maker in place of actual gaskets, they have been doign this since the mid 80's, z32's have sealant for oil pan and exhaust cam cover gaskets as wella s the vtc's and who knows what else

also manufactuers and dealers have all sorts fo wierd rules about what constitutes new, my toyota truck had just under 5k miles on it and their rules say that to be titled as new it has to have under 5k, any mroe and they have to call it a demo vehicle, my chevy truck had had a fender repaired prior to the daler recievig it and so it was officially new not repaired as it was repaired prior to the dealer recieving it

As I stated, I originally posted for identifying the green leak only. I didn't even notice the pink excess stuff as being significant.

Someone then mentioned that the green leak looked like a coolant leak, but that the excess pink stuff was RTV gasket.
And that person went on to state that generally when it's like that, that it's a sign that the transmission was worked on
(post #12 at this forum-thread(http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/2007-n ... -leak.html)).

That's where I got upset because I bought the car brand new from a Nissan dealership and the only work that was done was oil changes at another Nissan dealer.

Today, I had it checked out at the dealership and was told that the leak was indeed a coolant (for the CVT) leak, and when I asked about the excess pink stuff that was squeezed out, I was told that it is normal.

I still would like to hear or see what other NAHs look like in that area around the CVT. Actually, I would like to know about the non-hybrid Altimas' CVT gasket/sealant look as well.

go to your dealer and start looking under cars, like I said nissan has been using liquid gasket for decades, so I'm not suprised to see it, glad to hear they acknowledged and are repairing your leak

Yeah, but that does look sloppy. Then again, I have not really looked underneath the Nissan products that are built in the US....All of mine came from Japan :)

I do agree, looking under new vehicles at the lot would be quite telling.
