G-Whizz, G-woods, and Zozoka1212:
I am totally in agreement with your all about driving hard. The G-35 was designed for punishment. I have found the G-35 coupe to be a slightly troublesome car whe driven slowly and gently. Shifting in slow and regular settings seems to make the synchronizer very confused or quirky.
Driving a car hard is the best thing you can do for it. But remember, the day you stop driving it hard, will be the day all the problems it has will sudeenly erupt. I have a second manual car that sees less and less of the road these days, eventhough I have been flogging this car to its over 210K mileage. Since buying my G-35 coupe, the little car seems to be giving me one little headache after another. So, I ensure the days I drive it, I literally make the car scream.
A car that has been driven hard form first day, must continue to be driven hard for the rest of its life, else, it will fall apart much sooner than you think. A car that has been drivne gently ffrom the beginning, must continue to be driven gently, else it will fall apart quickly. What you do at the beginning of the cars life, literally stays much the same over the cars life.
In may case, I have been flogging all my cars from day one, and so the cost to me is the extra gas i use for flogging them. So, I worry quite a bit when both cars sit for a while or when i start driving them gently. My little car is testament to this, and so i worry about driving my g-35 coupe gently.
