Ah! I want it to start so badly. Looking good though, you planning on starting it today or are you waiting a bit more?

Some intersting news..

I spent last night with a multimeter sussing out why my fuel pumps were not getting power.. I checked the fuse and it was buggered... Replaced it but still no go..

Checked the relay itself, fine... Checked switched 12v on the relay mount.... no go... checked the wiring harness underneath the relay mount, culprit found.. a broken join in the power wire (hence the blown fuse), must have been from when I shortened the wires to neaten up the relay box area...

Re-soldered rewrapped and bingo, pumps working... Three fuel pumps is really fkn loud, but I was bloody excited when I heard them spring into life... I removed power to the bosch pumps, and primed the surge tank, repowered the boschies and watched the fuel pressure gauge rise up really quickly.. No leaks in the lines so far hooray!!

Alas, I have a leak out of the fuel rail at number one injector but all good I will pull it out and check it this evening hopefully.. I am pretty confident it is an oring issue...

More to come...

Sounds like you are close! Thanks for keeping me updated!

I'll bet three big fuel pumps is pretty loud, but then again this isn't really meant to be luxurious and quiet.

Yep getting close now guys..

Pulled the injector out last night, oring issue so hopefully an easier fix..

Yeah was never meant to be quiet lol, I was amazed at how loud it was... Maybe I should grab a video of the noise lol...

If I can source some o rings and gear today (its now 1:30pm) after work, I will do some more tonight..

If not, saturday will be the go.. And i hope to have some action..

Where do you get all of the Injector seals and o rings and insulators? Also the spacers that go on the top between the rail and the injector?

Loving this build!

lol funny you should mention that..

I just bought 50 sets of orings and bottom seals, I used the same seal for the buffer seal (around the neck) i would rather use that than the original buffer even on a stock rail... Took me ages to find the right sizes...

If your in australia, the manufacturer is fuelmeister and your local efi guy should have a book to suss out the correct sizes, not sure what setup you have..

or i can make up a set for a reasonble cost if your in australia.. suit most denso type 11mm top feed injectors

Thanks for the support guys

But it's ok, no point in banning him..

Actually considering the quality of his other posts on this forum, I think banning wouldn't teach him anything... (unless its me you want to ban )

I think there is a saying that is quite applicable here...

"Better to let people think you are a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".. lol

As a quick update, i fried the ecu so my tuner is organising another one.. We don't think the nistune was killed as it is a power circuit overload.. but either way another one is also there to use if required..

Lesson learned: Don't assume the ecu relay can provide you with some extra amps for a sensor you want to come on with the ecu...

Hi mate, The "T" connection is actually the part from the auto ca (the auto ca had the factory oil/water heat exchanger)..

I had a dash 12 bung welded to the nipple that fed the exchanger...

Cheers

Indeed it is christmas, thanks for the tidings and merry christmas to all

Some updates:

My baby son was born on the 12th of december so I havent had much time on the car recently.. I am on holidays though, and now that he is settling in I have planned a week of solid work..

Santa was good to me this year, although he arrived early for me in the form of courier trucks lol.. So I now have an ac/dc tig welder, and two 10" soundstream reference subs amongst some other gear..

I have removed most of the interior from the S13 to make way for the S15 dash/door cards, map and interior lights. I am going to respray the interior trims and dash parts, no more brown interior, for colours that I hope is a little nicer to the eye...

I am going to design a rollcage in line with andra standards (andra is the aussie drag racing governance organisation) and install..

The back seat area I am going to remodel to house a bandpass tri-chamber box for the 10" woofers, the amps and carpc with fibreglass. I am designing it to be removed easily as requried..

I am going to remodel the boot area, the 15" sub is going and I am going to redesign the fake floor, the tig welder will come in handy .

I will be taking vids and more photos...

Cheers

Congrats dad! Can't ask for a better Christmas present than a son, and you can quote me on that.

Take your time with all of it, and enjoy the lack of sleep that will inevitably present itself for the next few months.

Yep congrats on the Baby. I got an Aug09 type=b model :-)Mine needs his cat converter replaced as his exhaust is on the nose.

My only advice is..don't forget the dream!! Write down why you started, before the sleepless nights of parenthood make you forget why you ever started.. I don't want to see it in the 'For Sale' section as an unfinished project in 12 months time.

I speak out of experience of watching it happen to many others. My car was 99.5 percent finished 2 years ago. It now sits in the garage because work and family leave no time for car anymore. I don't have the time (in daylight) to start it for weeks at a time. I'm not selling it.. I promise to myself :-)

My long service leave in Oct 2010, then it will be CA18 boot camp time!

Thanks for the crongats on my new addition to the family... lol needs his cat converter replaced and exhaust on the nose that is funny as!!

Well its been a while since my last update....

I have been busy with other things on my plate recently, however I have been stuck into some more work on the sil..

I got stuck in today and mounted up the s15 gear, made sure it sits nice (measure thrice cut once lol..) before pulling it out again to paint up.. all in all, pretty happy with how it turned out, there was some fiddly bits, but I have a video tech file on how I did it that I will upload soon :silly:

And I am building the back seat area to sit the amps and a couple of bandpass 10" soundstream subs, I have built the base and waiting for the fibreglass to dry.. I decided to remodel the boot area, but havent started yet..

Just waiting for the ecu and I can finish off some wiring..
