Here's how it looked before, pretty boring:

Though I did add the wireless card the night I got it.

Also added a silicone case fan vibration dampener (uv blue) to my OE 92mm fan... you can see it peeking out around the edges of the screen:

Needs a window in this door panel....

Here's the goods to do the deed:

Ready for surgery:

Sleeved the fans and lights properly with real sleeving (uv reactive blue) and for the PSU I used ez-sleeve (uv reactive blue) since I don't have the tools to dissassemble the molex or SATA connectors. Tied that up with zipties (uv reactive green) and tried to promote more airspace for better flow inside the case. Also added an LCD temp display (white LED) with temp probe to view ambient case temperature. More of an aesthetic knick knack than anything, but it was cheap and looks cool. Was going to cut one of the HD bays up to recess it but opted to leave that in tact and use double sided tape to mount it behind, hiding the wiring and the temp probe, but still viewable through the window. As far as lighting goes, it's a FrozenCPU 30 LED hyper light strip in blue mounted at the top of the case, and a clearenced out Vastech cold cathode kit (UV ultraviolet) mounted on the bottom of the case from SVC ($1.99... woot!)

Still kind of messy, but way better than how it came stock. I moved all the excess wiring into the empty 5.25" bay and tied it together to ensure the most free air space is utilized as possible. This is right at the very top of the case though and i'm not worrying about it until I upgrade to a higher output and modular power supply later this year. Good view of the LED light strip though!

The LCD display mounted and running:

And the good stuff:

The LED lights, anodized case screws, Hyperglide teflon mouse feet (I highly reccomend these...wow what a difference!!!), zip ties, ez sleeve (uv blue) and window kit were purchased from http://www.FrozenCPU.com

The cold cathodes, black sleeving kit, and bluetooth dongle were all purchased from http://www.SVC.com

The SerialATA to molex 4pin adaptors, 92mm silicone case fan dampener (uv blue) and temp display were purchased from http://www.performance-pcs.com

Round 2 should be here tomorrow.

Don't wanna hear it! Everything 'cept the PSU and motherboard are upgraded and the PSU will be upgraded later this year . Crossing my fingers that the motherboard doesn't fall victim to 'being a Dell.' LOL.

If you're a gamer the mouseskates are a must. I still have my Steelpad and that mousepad with skates is amazing. I've been using them since '02 or '03 and it just makes aiming in FPS's so much smoother.

I'm not a gamer. However, I will say that they are a MUST with photo editing, wow what a difference it makes with that.

Eh, "mouse skates" can certainly help, but if you have a mouse crappy enough to need them, teflon tape is the wrong solution.

Real mice have real feet:(Three fat teflon feet)

As for mouse pads, I haven't used one in years. Right now I'm using my bare desk surface (optical mice love dull fiberboard veneer). Before that I used a big sheet of craft foam board (the thick science project stuff) that sat beneath my keyboard, mouse, and monitor. And before that I used a high-grade razor cutting surface (intended for rotary craft razors) that was about the same size as the foam board. Similar surface texture to the other two but thin and solid. Expensive and ugly (green), though.

I dislike mousepads for a few reasons:1: optical mice have no need for them functionally (unless you have a transparent glass or very shiny desk)2: they're too small3: they elevate the mouse off the table (might be minimal, but it's enough to irritate the wrist and hand after a while if you sit like I do with your elbows and forearms resting on the table).

Round 2 arrived today:

AcoustiFeet Silcone case feet. Rated the best on the market for noise reduction. Patented in the UK and used by many coorperations for office PCs. Purchased from http://www.AcousticPC.com (best price I found in stock.)

And a pic of the HyperGlide pure teflon mouse feet I put on:

As far as the motherboard, yours is made by Intel. It is the Intel G33 or DG33. Not bad at all, but something you might look into upgrading in the future. If you keep browsing the OC forums, by the time you upgrade the PSU, you will want to upgrade the motherboard as well. Then you can overclock that Q6600!

nice job dano!

Props for taking the time to mod the case to make it quiet.I put silicon feet/bushing things on my PSU, hard drives, and CD drives. Coupled with a bunch of large slow RPM fans... can barely tell my comp is running.

Hey Dano, where did you pick up that LCD temp display and probe? I did a quick search on Tigerdirect.com and couldn't find anything.

I would love to use one of these on my pro-amps and possibly on each of my subwoofers to monitor pole piece temperatures. How hot will these read because I'd need something up to the 200-250F range. Stock the amps cooling system is over the top for home use (since they're made for DJ'ing/night clubs). Their fans are NOISEY! Once you fan mod them, you cut the air flow by 1/4 or even more. I want to make sure they don't get too hot.

On this one, it says it hooks up to a 4pin connector. Is that a 12v or a 5v supply?

No worries, but in my first post I did mention where I bought it Read N00b!

The 4 pin is for a 12v Molex connector. You just need 12v and ground though for it.

I went back and had to read your first post TWICE before I saw where you bought it at. *sigh* I'm getting old.

12v power I have...well sorta. My small amp has a 24v power supply for the fans (I modded it using 2, 12v computer fans in series) and my big one, I'm not sure, though it's also variable speed, which means variable voltage. *sigh*. The battery powered unit just may be the ticket for it.
