Yeah, I have the same problem.....is it as simple as changing the lines?nuQ wrote: what procedure did you use to fix the leak at the bottom of the PS reservoir, where the hose is clampled to the bottom? i'm assuming you have to drain out the reservoir, then what?
Yes you can cut the end of a damaged hose off as long as it doesn't effect the flow of P.S. fluid! The P.S. Hose are high pressure hoses and they also leak along the frame rail where it runs into cooler! Remember this fluid also runs threw your Rack and Pinion!nuQ wrote:the hose seems like a regular coolent hose or is it a pressure hose,,,,,just clamped to the reservoir, right? maybe this is dumb, but, can the hose be cut towards the end and just re-clamped???
I didn't use any flush, just disconnected P/S hose (smaller of the two and the one that was leaking also) at the resivor and held a cup under it and let it drain the res. then started the car briefly and let the P/S pump the rest of the fluid out into a drain pan. The FSM says to turn the wheel lock to lock 2 times without the car started to get bubbles out. It moaned after starting but went away soon (bubbles in res. but gone now). Left the splash shield off until I can degrease it then will reinstall.PopPop wrote: All looks good! Did you use a P.S. flush or did you just drain and run fresh ATF threw P.S. system? You made sure you got all air out of system or do you see air bubbles in P.S. reservoir when turning steering wheel left to right? Are you running your splash pan or leaving it off because of easy access or maybe its dirty from oil and dirt?
Looks nice !Flagship-Q wrote:One more of the finished product (with summer wheels and tires reinstalled)
