hey guys, i found a pretty cool 8 dollar mod yesterday with some spray paint, glitter and a salt shaker. it came out awesome untill i put a clear coat on and the glitter lost its metalic properties  it turned out all right but i think im going to redo it with some krylon glitter paint once i finish a shift boot im working on.

heres what it looked like after i cleared it

first i sanded everything with 220 and 400 grit, then cleand and primed, then sanded with 400 again, sprayed some black paint, laid down the glitter, then clear coated. i am disappointed with the way it turned out after the clear.

lol, it does match my avatar. my shift boot is going to be a fake leather deal with pink stitching i think, it should go pretty good with the sparkles i think, ill eventually do the glovebox the same as the boot. and do something with the door cards too, once i think of something

Right on! I love mods that people do to make themselves happy & not just because it is the "in" thing to do.

You could always wrap these items in glitter vinyl instead, since the clearcoat is not working right.

lol, i actually felt pretty ghey buying glitter, i felt so wierd infact that i waited twice as long in the self checkout line at walmart just so i wouldn't have to deal with people. It still isn't as bad as when a girl asks you to buy her tampons though, or when you go into the pharmacy with a prescription for dioxicylin for chlamydia treatment :rotfl
as far as it sucking for the next owner... yeah it would. lol, but it will come right off with some paint thinner :yesnod

To be honest, mods with glitter and pink and purple, as well as mods that are "not the "in" thing to do," are the in thing to do right now. :chuckle: I really don't mean that in a douchey way, but it's true. I think the 240 community is the only place that a kid can sprinkle glitter on his center console and have people like it, haha.

I am, however, all about doing what makes you happy- so props for that!

I like it, but I wonder if the glitter will last. Maybe it will rub off later down the road?
Pics when there installed. Looks good though!
