I searched around but couldn't find symptoms like mine in other threads.

About two months ago, my T-25 would make a funny noise. It was very rare but became more frequent. The other day, any time I started to get into boost, it sounded like a kazoo.....pretty funny.

Then yesterday it just quit boosting. No smoking though. Just wont spool and goes super rich (9.x:1) with no power at all.

I planned on upgrading turbos anyways, but did my constant abuse kill my baby T-25? I ran 12-13 lbs on it for about 4 months, which I know is a no-no

but boost is so addicting I couldn't help it.

Thanks for your input.

Pulled the turbo today. Found two broken studs (closest to firewall). Turbo doesn't have any shaft play at all. Only a little oil was found, nothing abnormal looking. Im thinking maybe a bad wastegate?

What do you peeps think?

Where are the two broken stud located at exactly? Maybe the gasket on the turbo inlet is blown. They make funny noises, boost problem and strong exhaust smell.

The two studs were the first two closest to the firewall.

On the turbo inlet or the elbow?

Its two of the studs that are in the head attaching the manifold to the head.

If your pegging you gauge rich you probably have a boost leak. I'd start there and see what pops up.
