So I i rebuilt this motor 2 years ago and it just sat in the garage. I just started messing with the car again about a month ago and found out i have ptu problems. :wtf2: I finally figured all that out and for some reason im running 20 degrees advance now. I pulled all the covers off and counted the teeth between pulleys and everything checks out. Also the pulleys are on with TDC. :gotme Any ideas as to why this is all of the sudden 20 degrees advance? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is the ignition timing timing the one that is advance, or the timing that shows when you connect a computer to the ECU?

Are you checking the timing cold or at operating temp?

If you are checking at it cold it should be advanced 20-25 btdc. At op temp, you should be at 15 btdc. You do not want it at 0, car will run horribly bad or not at all. At 20, you should be able to let it run and even drive it, just do not but a major load on it like full throttle, that is when you could cause detonation.

Ya it is at operating temp. Now the idle is up to 2k... i can get it to run and idle fine in the garage, but for some reason once i drive it the idle gets stuck...
