Did I skip a sprocket link (or two) by rotating crank pulley ccw?

When putting the engine together and setting the pulley at the correct timing mark (1 tdc) I rotated pulley ccw a few times when i went past the mark (felt lazy and didnt' feel like going a full cw rotation). I did feel the chain sort of snag and jump when doing this, so I quit rotating ccw. The question is, how probable is it that i jump a link or two?

I've been trying to get this engine running w/no luck. Cables are fine, coil is fine, dizzy is fine, but upon installing it (correctly mind you) I still can't get it to fire (oher than 1 or 2 farts here and there). Fuel pump is fine, and injectors seem to be opening (plugs somewhat wet w/gas). Any other ideas/sensors/cables I may have forgotten to plug to the harness and are critical to get this going?

PS: Am i looking at upper timing chain only or both?

for posterity...i just cleared ECU codes and it fired right up after. It was giving me a CAS and MAF code which I guess I got from turning the ignition while these were disconnected. It probably just went into limp mode or something like that.

Well, I did not touch the valvetrain at all (just replacing gaskets and miscellaneous) and was working fine before I pulled it. I noticed that the links were out of place as per the FSM (silver links lining w/sprocket marks) but it seemed that someone had done a chain job in the past w/o using the fsm. The jump that occurred from turning ccw was the side tensioner grabbing onto the chain and then releasing it. I did it some more to see if the chain did slip but that wasn't the case... it just tugs and releases. Everything was fine after all just the ECU stalling it, it appears.

BTW: there's a pretty good Diagnosis diagram on the Fuel and Emissions part of the FSM. It tells you how to check everything quickly. Injectors, pump, spark, etc.

yeah there is...I read ef & ec pg 40 to access the diagnostic codes. I really don't know how i cleared them excatly, but it was a combination of moving the modes as per that page. I think it's when u return to Diagnostic mode I when it resets. Ok, found it on pg 43, at the bottom of the page it says how to reset them. You can also read the codes by counting the number of blinks. It's all around the same area in the book.

troubleshooting components starts on pg 64.

just a reminder:MAF Connected?FPR connected?Pump connected? Fuse to pump in the fusebox (often taken out to purge before pulling engine)?

Dizzy connected and at the right position?Coil connected? there's 3 connectors to the sucker, one ground and 2 from harness.TPS connected?

my distributor is where i was having a lot of trouble, and everything else is connected. keep in mind im obd11 so i dont have to count the blinking light. i was having trouble setting the distibutor right because in the fsm it says that i should line it up with the pin with the indention to the right, but when i tried to put it in it required an a** load of force and it always turned. thats one of the reasons i thought my timing chain was way off, so im gonna go out today and hopfully take the front plate off and see where the chain sits...
