Did I really lose my key inside the car?

I have a 2007 M35. I think I may have misplaced my key inside the car. When I sit down (without key) the car is able to start. When I try and lock the door by pressing the button on the outside handle, it gives me the fast beep sequence.

I've searched the entire car but can't find any misplaced key.

Did I really lose my key inside the car? ...or is there something else going on with the electronics?

It has to be somewhere in the front otherwise the senors wouldn't let you start it. How did you lose it without knowing?

That happens to me all the time I have jogging pants on. Most of the time it's near the track.

I lift the seat up and then forward, I go to the back and look next to the track.

You were all right. It took me 2 hours combined of searching. Must have fell out of cargo shorts Thanks again.

to be honest...i think that happened to me. I had my key and spare hanging in the same place. Now there is only one lol!!
The first few times the doors acted funny with locking and all but i think the spare over-rides the one in the car, now i have no problem except not knowing where my original key is....and of course not having a "spare" now.

I love this feature on the M's. The other day I left my keys in my gym bag and threw it in the trunk. The trunk would shut, then it would make a beeping noise and pop open. I thought something was blocking the trunk from shutting completely, or I was having some kind of mechanical/electrical problem. After a few minutes of frustration and confusion, I finally realized my keys were still in my bag.
