When did nissan make an RB30de??? I found some limited info on it. Is it a bastard child engine? some stroked/swapped head motor that makes it a 3L?

fair as i knew it was poppycock.

its a bastard

the only factory RB30 was a SOHC. the DE is a conversion using a 20/25/26 head and some block mods to make it work.
