my car just started knocking after about 3k rmp's all the way up but nothing before 3k. i got like 147k on my 95. Well im going to drop the pan and see what i see maybe change a bearing or 2. its not loud really but i wanna catch it before it gets 2 bad, i dont have money for a swap. can it be saved??? will just changing the bearing be ok or no???

Knock is very different from the sound of a spun bearing.

If its a spun bearing.... be prepared to pull the engine soon... otherwise you may have a rod through your block

If you have spun a bearing, then go all the way and do a full rebuild. with 147K the engine is tired. YOu will be suprised how nice a fresh rebuild is to drive (once broken in of course)
