I got my coilovers installed and the car is really low. But the problem is i say picture online and thinking i might of done it wrong. the car is stored way so i cant even judge buy the ride comfort.

The way i installed it was left the mount bracket at the bottom and brought the collars down to the mounting bracket. When you have the car in the air the spring can go up and down?

Is that the right way to install coilover?

The way i saw it online was the mount bracket was really close to the top of the coilover and the spring compressed a lot with little to no gap between collars.

Which way should i do mine? Btw mys coilovers are HSD HR aka Stance Gr

thats pretty normal, this is also the reason most coilovers come with helper springs; so when your car becomes air born or you are servicing it, the helper spring extends and keeps the big spring aligned and on its perches. my springs are loose when the coilover extends fully and I have not had any problems. but if you have movable brackets I would just keep the spring tight and move the bracket to adjust your ride height, that way its not flopping around up there when your car isn't on the ground.

no

The collar should be snug to the spring. Don't preload the spring, but don't leave it loose. Adjustments for ride height and spring preload are separate with most coilovers. Youtube search coilover adjustments or read the manufacturer's instruction manual, which ever is more convenient for you.

The coilover has an adjustable bottom mount for a reason. Bring those collars up again so the spring is snug (no vertical play but can still twist with hand strength), and adjust ride height with the bottom mount.
