I'm in the middle of chasing a misfire/stumble that is keeping me from passing emissions and I am wondering if I installed the wrong plugs. The ones I got are "NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs BKR5EIX-11 # 5464"

This is where I got them:

mac,Is it for the car in the picture , in your profile 93 2+2 ? And that's pre OBDII . Check computer for ANY codes , and if it's a VG30DE motor they are supposed to be sometimes "finicky" on plug Brand :yesnod . Does the manual specify NGK and a specific one? Does it also list possible "colder" options (your in HOT-HOT Utah ? ) If you saw ABSOLUTELY no oil fouling - try ONE colder # of the NGK listed in "Spec's". Assuming no other obvious issues and , No I'm sorry not to actually lookup for you any "aftermarket" IR plugs - due to specific car / engine, + year not mentioned in post.Respect G 4/5/2018
p.s. your link went to dead end for me

Yes and No.
Yes - These engines are recommended to run the OEM plugs because the plug is longer and places the spark further inside the cylinder, this is how the engine was designed to operate.
No - It will work with shorter plugs but some (many) have reported less than optimal performance and MPG with anything but OEM length plugs.

You can get hotter/colder plugs in the OE length, most "acceptable" replacement plugs are NOT the correct length.

Personally I've found no reason to use aftermarket plugs with the VG30DE and VG30DETT, and heard tons of reasons not to do so. Misfire is a all-too-common issue with these cars often having to do with poor ignition of the lower-octane-than-required fuel we have available to us, why add to the misery?
Stick with OEM as NoLimit suggests and "tune" with the heat range varieties offered only if necessary.

mac, that "longer ,further into the chamber" aspect - very good point , they call it PROJECTED NOSE , is how far the gap protrudes and widely varies , as NolimitZ32 & DCaff300zx are getting at .Compare what you've got there and you'll probably see a difference - hopefully the problem is that simple yet subtle.

The N/A is one picky SOB. Dont do what I did and have the auto store cross reference what they say is " The replacement for whatever spark plug I asked them for". Get it from Z1 or dont get it at all. Just a waste of money putting anything but strict OEM in the Z.

mac, interesting to hear that you were able to get to the bottom of whether the " other than stock plug" fiasco was happening in your motor .I just found my rcts. and didn't want to suggest this plug # ,even though I believe my 93J30 has the same DOHC VG30DE motor ? Uncanny , I put, listen to this stock#3764 or - NGK BKR6EIX-11 Irridium (the "cooler" 6 is 'cause it really helps perf. here @ 119 deg. F amb.) , and the car actually runs better than the first two "stock NGK" replaced by me from the manual .(260kmi now!) And I know you gotta see for yourself - and like I say I held back because It's a known issue about poor performance possible when ANY changeover from 'stock' here ! Finicky is right ,these motors are :lolling:

A 6 is actually a pretty hot plug for NGK...........but then I'm used to running 8-9 in bikes. Where I come from 5 would be a piston melter.

mac,AMC that's a good one "piston melter" - gotta remember that. Yeah FSM had like 2 or three alt. 5's listed -stock NON-Irridiums -and the
ONE "colder" 6 suggested! :rotflmao
