SO I bought some goodridge brake lines off amazon, drove 2 hours to the border to get them and a bunch of other parts, and I think they may be incorrect. The rear line is what is suspicious to me, as I remember seeing a block type fitting on peoples installs, and mine didnt come with that. And there was some BS on the amazon website, where the was 2 types. I chose which one it said fit my car which was the "without DCS" version. Is it right?

Heres a pic of what I got

Thanks guys!!

I think you have a 2WD, right?

The shorter one looks like it'll fit between the 2 two-way connectors, and the longer ones will fit to each wheel cylinder (from the three-way connector).

Ya mine is 2wd, if it wasnt snowing like crazy I would just climb under my car. I do remember seeing a silly block fitting on someones install though, which got me worried. And amazon lists 2 versions of the goodridge lines for our cars, one that says "with drums" and one that was "without DCS", my first pick was the one that said for drum brakes, as I do have drumb brakes, but it gave me an error saying it wouldnt fit my vehicle. SO I bought the one it said would.

Hope I wasnt mistaken!!!

There is a 4-way connector on the 4WD models used for the load sensing valve, maybe that's what you're thinking of. Our 2WD models don't have a LSV. I don't know what "DCS" is.

any idea on how much fluid will spill out when I crack the lines?? I want to flush the fluid entirely, so should i buy a few bottles extra as ill probably waste alot bleeding the system??

Does each rear wheel have its own bleed screw

I don't know how much fluid will be lost during replacement of the lines.

A quart bottle of fluid was enough to flush all old fluid out of the lines. Use a DOT4 fluid for better minimum wet/dry boiling point specifications.

Each rear wheel cylinder has its own bleed screw.

Without looking at them in great detail, they look fine.

The block you are thinking of is on top of the axle. The rear braided brake (notice there is only one) line connects to a junction block (I think they call it a T junction - for obvious reasons) where it then splits the line to both rear wheels.

As far as the amount of brake fluid you'll lose - I don't remember a large amount spilling out when I replaced mine, but don't quote me on that...

Ok cool thanks guys, I just didnt know if a ton of fluid would pour out since I was openning the low point of the system and gravity I thought might spill it all out.

When i do the lines tomorrow Ill just do the rear first , appreciate the help

I think its the wrong line. Ive got the car on jackstands. And this is the only flexible brake hose I see in the rear.

The first pic is an overall shot of the line, and the second pic is shooting down on the block where the brake line enters at the top of the axle

How it supposed to work with this line

To me I should have been sent a line with the built block ontop of the axle, but ron makes it sound like that might not be true.

But the ends of the line I have dont seem to go anywhere in the rear.

I just wanna be sure its wrong before I give up on doing this mod this weekend

I still can't tell if the ones you have are incorrect. I'm leaning towards yes.

Well my goodridge line didnt come with a block. And I dont see a way that the oem rubber line would disconnect from block so I could thread this goodridge line into it. It appears to be crimped as one piece no??

Ruined all my maintenance plans for the weekend :( but I did just swap my PCV valve, hopefully I can get my car idling right and back to normal after I figure out these relearning procedures for the throttle and such. Crazy a** fsm language

Why don't you just send the above pictures to wherever you purchased your lines from, and request an exchange?

What Ron said. Looks like Nissan found a way to reduce the cost a little by eliminating a couple of threading processes.

Well I bought them off amazon.com, got them shipped to a US address, had to drive down to the border to get them. Since amazon wont ship it to canada. So its not really just so easy.

I'll just have to buy the individual rear line I suppose, and hold my install off a while

Or maybe there's someone out there that wants to upgrade, and needs the line you have. They could order the one you need, and then you two swap.
