Did I Get A Good Deal

ok, i am brand new, this is my first post. my name is Mike, glad to be here. i pick up my new 2010 Blue Onyx Versa sedan tomorrow.

anyway, i was wondering about the deal i got from my salesman. he told me the closest Blue Onyx was about 200 miles from me and he had to pay two drivers to go over and get it, along with gas so he couldnt come down as much off the sticker. so, here's the deal:

$16,335 sticker
$15,950 sale price
$1,000 on a trade for a car i was hoping to get $500 for. i got that and $500 more!
$1,500 rebate from Nissan.

did i get a good deal? fair deal? poor deal?

just curious, always nice to know.

I know several people in cars sales, and you got a pretty good deal.
The markup on new cars [esp new cheap base-model cars]is pretty slim.
Also since you are taking delivery tomorrow, you may help the salesperson reach an end-of-month bonus of some type.
And they probably will make money on your trade-in.
So everybody wins!

I just bought mine last week 2, sticker price was 16505. It is a Versa-S

I drove off the lot with TT&L included for $14138. No down no trade in blah blah blah.

Well, this also might play into this.

the driver from the Cincy area was real late getting back tuesday night, 8/31. so we had to wait until wednesday morning, 9/1, to do the deal. i took possession 9/1, paid for it 9/1, and signed the papers on 9/1. i asked the salesman "What if the incentives change?" and his response was not to worry about it. and he also said if they change "For The Better" he would cut me a check.

so, i now notice there is a $500 Holiday Bonus Cash offer going on for the Nissan Versa Sedan. should i assume i am going to get a check for $500? i sent a txt msg to my salesman, he says he will check into it and let me know. somebody said since my "Intent" was to purchase 8/31 that i am out of luck. but another person told me doesnt make any difference, the transaction wasnt officially done until 9/1.

any thoughts?

the date on the sales contract should be The Date for all intents and purposes.

Well, i got a text msg from the salesman last night. he said he'd cut me a check for $500 and mail it to me. so i guess i got pretty good deal after all. was wondering if the dealership would give me some excuse on this, but apparently they arent.
