$1,000 off MSRP? You would be the first person I've heard of to get that deal. Most are paying MSRP and some are getting others toys thrown in, but based on the discount alone, you're already ahead of most of us. Congrats!

I paid MSRP. The dealership threw in oil changes for life, loaners for life, free maintenance up to and including 30K service. But they do that for ALL new car sales, so nothing special.

Congrats on getting ANY $$ off MSRP

That's a good deal. I got about $1,500 off MSRP, but off of a higher price (approx $44,000 sticker).

Sounds like a fair deal to me...I know its kind of hard to come by to get anything off of the MSRP because this car is in HIGH demand and most people are willing to pay MSRP for it.....sounds like you got a steal to me

Don't jump the gun just yet.. The G37 sales figure has fallen flat and not selling as good as they originally thought it would.

Remember, don't get the G37 unless you have actually driven it for more then 5 minutes. The car is slow.

Where are you getting your figures re: slow sales? And quantify 'the car is slow' please. Compared to...? In a straight line? Slalom?

I live in Bristow and saw that you had purchased a G37 from Infinity of Chantilly. Did you order or buy off the lot? If you ordered, how long did it take to receive.

I think the Premium package is a must, but what have you found to be good options for this car? Thanks

I bought off the lot. Ordering takes ~120 days IRRC, and this one had what I wanted. Originally I was looking at Athens Blue / Graphite but took a look at the AG and liked it enough to change my mind.

Premium is a must-have IMO. I went for the Nav package, mainly for 'want' vs 'need'. We have a very capable Garmin c550 portable, but I like how this nav system is integrated. The 9GB of music storage and Compact Flash slot didn't hurt either, nor did the backup camera

Sport Package was out for me, as I would need A/S tires eventually and I have little storage room at my townhouse (no garage). Also, the base wheels are same size/offset front and rear, so I can rotate fro-rear and extend the life of the tires.

Tech Package adds adaptive headlights and active cruise control, neither of which is anything I cared for. I'm concerned that, with the active cruise going, it might try to suddenly slow you down if you met another car in a corner, on a 2-lane road for example.

The only other thing added to mine was a cargo net and wheel locks. I'll add all-season mats once they're available.

Yes... if he offered $1000 off MSRP on a mid-priced one you got a steal and probably can get some other extras.

I pre-ordered mine (MSRP approx. $44K) two months ago and no one was getting anything, but I finally got Desintation charge ($715 waived), $100 off spolier, and free window tinting (approx. $250) - Totalling $1050. that was after a great deal of negotiation between 3 dealerships, but then again that was 2 months ago.

This Car ROCKS! I have been driving it for a week + and other than someone hitting me in a parking lot and running (huge dent in door within 24 hrs of getting car) and 2 speeding tickets, I have been having a blast.

Anyone putting a Clear Bra on the front??? Where do you get all weather mats? I am looking for a spare set of RIMS, anyone selling the stock RIMS?

TWO tickets already?!

I'll pick up the all-weather mats ($82 MSRP) at the dealer once they arrive. Web site just says "late availability". Besides the other free things mentioned below, a $50 gift card (good towards accessories) came in the mail 2 days ago, so I'll probably put that toward the mats

No Clear Bra for me. Never cared for them.

Hey Fellas

Congrats on your purchases. I had just sold my baby of 14 years (Acura Integra GSR) Always liked the G35 and now have set my sites on a G37 Prem Nav Tech...to start. So Here I am...I hope to get your advice on purchasing for now.

Carman63....I live in the DC area and am lucky to have 7 dealerships within 100 miles. Chantilly is one and seems to have a great purchase deal with all the extras including the services, but is a good distance for me. Two dealerships have a car close to what I want and will try to work the crowd for the best deal. How was your experience there at Chantilly and did you look at other dealerships?

BTW... for the owner that was looking for stock wheels (G35autocrosser)... Though I like them, I may be swaping out my 19 inchers once I pick a new set of for it.

BTW2 ...Has anyone else been told that the Illuminated Kickplates will only be available in December?

Thanks in advance for everyones help!

If you run to a dealer to order a car sight unseen with checkbook in hand, you might as well be wearing a sign that says "kick me". It is hard enough for me to relate to folks that are in a wild hurry to get the latest "flavor of the moment" even when they can actually see it in person, but to run and order a relatively mainstream offering (not some special Porsche or Ferrari) that hasn't even come out yet is truly perplexing.

I reached out to 3 dealerships: Tysons, Chantilly, and Jim Coleman. Initially I offered a lowball offer to see if I could get any bites. Tysons laughed at me via email (the entire reply was "HAHAHAHAHA See you in 2 years!") while the other 2 offered very polite declines, but asked to speak with me in person to see what they could do.

Both Coleman and Chantilly offer some sort of free maintenance/oil change programs. If you're closer to Coleman, check them out. I believe they're slightly northeast of the 270/495 split.

If you want the names of the contacts I used, let me know. I don't have contact info for Tysons, since they chose not to sign their "hahaha" email.

I picked Chantilly because it's close to work for me, so I could drop off on the way in and pick up on the way out.

Regarding the illuminated kick plates, all I've seen was 'late availability'.

Thanks for the note Carman63. Unfortunately at Coleman, which is the closest to me, they had ordered only a few and have just two or three cars available if that right now...non even to try out. They do not offer lifetime free oil changes, 2yr maintainence, etc. like Chantilly does. Which is an awesome deal including 30,000 service and that all important 1 Year Detail, LOL.

Routine service must be done, All of them, with Coleman or a Coleman approved dealership (if you are out of town) to take advantage of the "special" warrenty for the drivetrain only.

Sorry to hear about the attitude you got at Tysons...stopped by there on Sunday but weere closed. On website it said opened on Sun. but only last two of the month. If you think they are Rude try BMW especially the one in Rockville "VOB"

Has anyone tried the Tech package out yet and have any thoughts? Heard it may be more trouble than its worth.

I responded to the Tech pkg question in another thread

Chantilly will let you test-drive any of their G37s that have been PDI'd, AFAIK. I knew Jim Coleman had some sort of 'catch' regarding their drivetrain warantee, and Chantilly has the same I think, re: the free oil changes. But I'm sure if you were far away you could get it waived. Also, they offer loaners for life (a fleet of various G35 sedans) so you could conceiveably drop your car off the night before service then head out.

The only other thing I could suggest is, pit dealers against each other in the 'perks' department (since they all want MSRP or more). For example, since you know Chantilly has a lot of perks tossed in, see if Coleman or whomever will match them per-for-perk.

I had a hard time convincing the BMW folk I could afford their cars. even when I pulled up in my 2006 Audi A6. Oh well.

I wanted the car, was confident in all of the research, and could get my money back. $500 or $1000 off a car isn't worth the couple months of enjoyment that I am getting. keep worrying about the dimes and I will be enjoying life.

Thanks for the note G35AC... I'll keep it close in hand and let you know when that time comes.

The Infiniti G line has been proven and I would be confident in buying the latest version G37. I ordered my 3rd generation 1994 Acura Integra GSR months before it came out through a dealer friend. Didnt even know what it was going to look like... I enjoyed 14 years of trouble free, fun to drive, seat of the pants V-tec power.

You cant go wrong with this one, Ive been keeping an eye out on this one since the rumor a new "G35 coupe" was to be introduced summer of '07. Its here and its gonna be mine. Sad to sell the GSR but time to make room in the garage for the Infiniti.

Congrats on your purchase... enjoy it a few weeks before the rest of us... and know were chomping at the bit as you whiz by! :O)

What's with all this free maintenance you all are talking about?? Fill me in on what you mean. I have been a loyal Infiniti purchaser/customer for the last 10 years and have owned 4 Infiniti's and I have never gotten FREE maintenance with a purchase.

Are you talking about free maintenance like BMW offers on models?? Just curious.

Hey "J" If you are referring to my(our) post fo the incentives from dealers, they are from dealers here in the Washington DC area. http://www.InfinityofChnatilly.com in Chantilly Virginia has a 500 club if you purchase or lease from them. It works as follows:

THE 500 CLUB

THE 500 CLUB - America's Most Comprehensive Ownership Program:Included with the purchase or lease of any new vehicle at Infiniti of Chantilly- 2 Years of Scheduled Factory Maintenance, including the 30,000 mile service- Same Day Service Appointments- Oil Changes for Life- Virginia State Inspections- Infiniti Service "Loaner for Life" - Shuttle Service to Dulles Airport- Unlimited Complimentary Car Washes

- $50 Gift Certificate for Parts and Accessories- Full Detail at the 1 year Anniversary Date of Purchase

Sounds like a great deal.

The other Infiniti dealership in Rockville Maryland... Jim Coleman Infiniti has a deal on Lifetime warranty of the drivetrain if ALL maintainence is done by them.

A little more tricky because all maintainence must be done by them ... forever! LOL

I have never heard of such. That is obviously a local dealership program and not Infiniti Corporate sanctioned. Which is fine.

I have a maintenance program for the first 36K miles for oil changes and such but I had to pay $750 for it as it wasn't free. It also did not cover the 30K mile service, which I just had done.

I would say that you all are pretty fortunate to have that service available in your area. I don't know of anything like that in Texas, Oklahoma or Arkansas. I do know that the service department of a dealership is the dealers bread and butter and how they pay the bills so they are losing some money by doing that and you can bet they are making it up somewhere. Nothing is free these days you know.

Enjoy the service.

You're correct, this is a dealer-by-dealer program. In my case, considering I paid MSRP, this program isn't costing them too much

In the DC area, especially Tysons Corner, a lot of dealers there don't haggle as much (in my experience) because they feel that, if you don't buy the car the next guy will. There are dealers that will haggle, but usually not on the newest, hottest car. That being said, some dealers will offer free oil changes, extend the drivetrain warranty, offer loaners, etc. to compete with the other dealers.

The thing about the free maintenance up to 30K miles is, it's 30K or 2 years which ever is first. Considering the amount of people leasing the car, and being restricted to 10-12K miles/year average, the dealer is pretty confident they won't have to cover some of those cars all the way through to the 30K service.

Supposedly, the total 'value' of this program is ~$4K. I haven't done the math to see how they got to that amount. But if that's the case, then figure it's probably costing the dealership a lot less than that to perform what you get. So, unless you're getting the car for more than $2500-$3000 off MSRP, you ARE paying for that service IMO. As you stated, nothing is free.

Sound like we are definitely lucky here in the DC / Baltimore area. I just noticed Nationwide Infiniti in the Baltimore area has the same Program as Chantilly with the service plan. They unfortunately are just on the outer fringes of 40 miles from home or work...maybe thats how they get people to buy out there.LOL

...And I just got an e-mail from them that they have the car I want, coming in this week. It now looks like three out of the seven dealers have the specs and color that I want... Guess I got to roll up the sleeves, roll some dice, and see who comes up the winner....wish me luck!

I have not heard back form Tysons yet... they sound alt like VOB BMW in Rockville does business...they are horrible. That is one big reason why Im not going back to them (BMW) for another vehicle. They are one of the reasons why I look at the Service department reputations, If the price is right and they have a great service reputation then they are gonna get the sale even if I pay $500.00-1000.00 more and drive an extra 30 miles, I do that now for the X5.

BTW... That service plan BMW boasts about is a joke... there are basically one oil change and a set of wiper blades before your miles or time are up. It only covers manufacturers service interval dictated by your onboard computer lights. My new (non BMW) mechanic was horrified when he found out that I was relying on the lights to come on for service. I love my Beemer but I dont want to go through the maintainence issues I always have with it again in another BMW....SOO....off to the Infiniti dealerships.

My Audi A6 (2006) came with Audi's "free" maintenance plan, and they cover oil changes at 10K mile intervals. HOWEVER, the computer tells you to get it changed at 5K miles. Speaking with one SA, he said that if you lease your car go with the 10K plan. If you plan on owning the car go with the 5K - at your own expense! BTW Castrol synthetic oil was used, $110 per oil change if you pay. Also, $80 wiper blades - can only find them at the dealer.

They dropped the 'free' plan for the '07 model and beyond, but you can add it for $550 as an option.

I'm looking for the same car that you have in Platinum Graphite w/Graphite.By reading what you wrote the dealer was able to give you $1000 off MSRP. I'm talking with them now at the dealer and I'm hoping I can get the same thing but I'm not sure they will come off the car at all. They don't act like it. What should I say to maybe get the deal you did?
