well.. anyway. i tried my best to explain what 's good about stick. she's still unhappy.
We went to the dealer togehter ...
one more thing. i didn't know if my car has ABS ... how to check it please?
Here, check this thread out as far as the ABS goes. My car doesn't have ABS and I drive in all kinds of weather with no problems. You just have to drive sensibly according to the road conditions.
Also, as someone who learned to drive automatic before manual transmission, I actually find manual much safer. I have more control over what the car is doing and I actually find myself more involved in the process of driving, ie. no zoning out.
I find myself much more aware of what my car and the others around me are doing. Also, it's nice to be able to stay in a nice low gear if I'm driving in snow.
I'm sure your girlfriend will learn how to drive manual transmission with no problem. It's not some arcane art, it's a skill that can be learned with a little practice. Besides, it's a lot of fun!
My fiance has said she'll learn to drive a manual transmission only *if* I buy a Porsche (been wanting to get a 944 for some time now).
