did i find the probem?

so i have had some knocking/slapping noises and i just took my valve cover off and this is what i see, what could i do to resolve this problem,whats wrong? Whoops(KA24DE)92 coupe.

A lot of slop in the upper chain. Have you tried putting the upper guide back in?

not the solution. most of the s14's didnt even come with the other two guides. all that would do is keep it from hitting the valve cover, which it might be hitting the upper timing cover also.

how many miles on the engine? i would recommend that you buy a full timing chain and tensioner kit. you dont want to skip time and destroy your valves. or put holes in your pistons. never a good time. lol so save your engine and just put in a new kit with guides and all.

quick question, so i know sr's well, the guy before me told me it was s13 block with a s14 head. would that make a difference in what i buy?Thanks.
