Did diff fluid and transmission fluid this weekend

Man all I got to say is that old and worn gear oil STINKS

What came out of the diff was gunky and not oil looking. The transmission was not as bad but bad enough.

Put Castrol Syntec 75/90 in the rear diff and valvoline 80/90 for the transmission.

She seems the shift a little better, but it was fairly easy to do I must say.

gear oil smells bad new...i dont wanna know what the old stuff smells like.

I spilled a little on my carpet when I did my transmission fluid and dam* that smell stayed in forever, even after soaking it with air freshener.
