did chain cranks but no start

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

ok i did the chain everything lines up but motor wont start. i had the dist. rotor 180 wrong it fired right up but fell on its face when i drove it 2 blocks but i have since fixed that and now it wont start does anyone have any ideas its a ka24e in a 90 240 please help!!

Do you have spark? fuel? Are all your plugs hooked up? Are all your ground wires bolted down?

i got spark and fuel now i see what looks look coolent in the head do these things crack heads or is it prolly the gasket

There was a long thread about doing the timing chain a few weeks ago..

basically the most common problem is not lining up the crank/cam timing perfectly, and not lining up the distributor/oil pump shaft perfect.

After those two are in perfect alignment, you will also need to make sure your timing is set to (I believe) 15 degrees btdc on the single cam engine, and 20 degrees btdc on the dual cam engine.

IF the car started with the distributor supposedly 180 off it was not off to start with. The timing may not have been adjusted right or the chain might be off, but the distributor would have been on.
