Good job! Purolator Classic filters are well built and still have good efficiency - 96.5% at 20 microns if I recall correctly.
wisehunter1, there is no need to tighten oil filters any more than hand tight. I would also avoid use of the Fram filters as they have rather lousy construction, lack media compared to other filters around the same price range, and are horrible value for the price. See an ExtraGuard cut open
here, and compare it to the
Purolator Classic L14610 the OP used. The Purolator Classic is often cheaper than the equivalent Fram filter at auto parts stores. The only Fram I would personally use is an XtendedGuard; see one cut open
here. Those are tanks and will easily do 10k+ mile oil change intervals on a clean engine.
Purolator manufactures filters for Ford (Motorcraft) according to their specifications. I believe the Motorcraft FL822 is usable on our engines - it's essentially a Purolator Classic clone.
