I was looking at an old Z' commercial and noticed it also has the rock guard on the lower exterior, where the black line acts as a separator between the two.

My z has it..is it only on the 1990s?..and my cars going in for paint next week will that make it more difficult to work on?.

thanks.

We were wondering that too, as our '90 Z has the same texturing on the lower panels. Corvidae hates it, and originally thought it was pre-previous owner BS, but it looked stock on closer inspection.

It's textured into the material, only way to remove it is to shave it down.

It does. It's a texture, it's built into the molds.
