the other day i was messing around in a dirt patch. floored it...the tires were spinning then when i hit the pavement only one tire left a mark...whereas in the dirt..it was two tire marks...

Sorry no LSD. 89 and 90 did not come with LSD in the US.

the only cars that came with LSD's on the S13 run were the ones with HICAS

Thats not exactly true. If you have HICAS then you have a LSD but you can get an LSD withought HICAS. No LSD option in the US for 89 or 90's at all though.

got this from someone else, so...

The LSD was available on 91-93 Base, and SE Models as a add-on package. 240SX LE Models have an LSD.

All 240SXs w/ ABS have an LSD.All 240SXs w/ SuperHICAS also have an LSD.All Canadian 240SXs have a LSD.

When you smoke the tires, both will spin if you have an LSD.Jack up the car and look on the pumpkin. If it has a yellow tag that says VLSD you have an LSD.Jack the car up and turn the rear wheel. If you turn one side and the other side turns in the same direction you have LSD. If the other side turns in the opposite direction, you have an open differential.

ok, off subject yet not. I have a 93 S-13 (5-spd.). Now, I'm assuming LSD is when, no matter what, when ur tires begin to slip, both axle spin.? right?

If This is true, I'm still confuzzled. I lay 2 pretty black lines down PA highways when I'm bored, But im pretty sure I dont have LSD. I back this up by saying that i have to be moving forward and then turn sideways hard while gunning the gas to get the car to spin ( using BOTH tires, of course), otherwise, I get a lame side slide with no tail fun. Although I've never had less than 2 lines when burning out straight, I have had only one line from trying to spin sideways.

ill be checking for vlsd 2night
