THE CARPET IN OUR CAAR IS LIKE 35 LBS, 40 WITH THE ADHESIVEDIAMOND PLATE FLOORING IS ONLY LIKE 20 POUNDS + WELDS OR RIVETS IF YOU ATTACH PERMANENTLY. DIAMOND PLATE IS ONLY LIKE 1MM THICK.

if you are that serious about losing weight, why not just ditch the carpet and not put anything in?

You have to be careful with those diamond plate floormats.

If your engine gets too much nawwss they'll fall out and bust the welds on your intake manifold.

... it's $179 for a complete set, but you could easily get them cheaper. I've heard good things about the quality of Legend5 interior stuff.

It seems like you might have to buy the Legend5 stuff from their website. Couldn't find it for cheaper on another site...

ummm, reducing weight serves more than one purpose as Im sure alot of you all know. Not only do you need less hp to go faster, but it helps braking performance and increases handling characteristics. I think saving wieght should be one of the top priorities for increasing your cars performance, but not to the extreme of gutting your whole interior. I guess this is just my opinion, but I am entitled to it and I feel others will back me up.

Im not against weight reduction but personally I like a full interior an a audio system. I like the all around car. I admit tho weight reduction is fun an a cheap way to go faster its just not for me. Unless I need like .1 or .2 seconds to get the desired ET. :) Yea if anyone can find it cheaper than Legend5 lemme know. Thanks!

I just think some people like the best of both worlds. Ia m not going to take my S13 to the track everyday. I may want to just ride around. Why do people get S15 conversions or S13 silvia conversions. Probably because they either are A) WAAAAAY too caught up in this whole JDM movement or B) want to be different or C)want their car to look nice. I think the same thing goes for interior. Even down to carpet for some. Iw ould rather do an upgrade than remove anything from my car. Sure it may handle better but then it becmoes boring in my opinion.
